At this most traditional time of year — Thanksgiving — we thought we’d share some of our team’s most cherished family traditions! We seem to all have our signature dish for Thanksgiving dinner, passed down from our grandmas, from secret stuffing recipes to pecan pie. And everyone has a favorite family holiday activity for after dinner. It’s wonderful to be around friends and family for the day and experience these well-loved traditions every year.
Thanksgiving Dinner Our Way
Michael spends his pre-Thanksgiving dinner time making his mother’s recipe for homemade rolls from scratch every year. He not only enjoys them with his own family, he likes to share them with neighbors as well. And Stephanie always plans a non-traditional Thanksgiving meal with her kids — no turkeys here! This year they are excited to go Italian with a big spaghetti dinner.
Family-Time Traditions
Teamwork and group activities abound during this holiday break. Many of our team members love to spend Thanksgiving morning watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade with their families. This well-loved activity always comes with cups of hot coffee and apple cider! Next up, one team member’s family works together to create a stunning new floral arrangement every year that is the highlight of their Thanksgiving table.
After the big meal concludes and all the turkey has been gobbled up, one of our team members takes their whole family on a walk to enjoy the fall foliage. It’s a great opportunity to explore the neighborhood, enjoy nature and walk off a few calories to make room for pie. Another one of our families love to end the day with family movie time. Nothing like kicking off the Christmas season with a heartwarming family holiday movie and a cup of cocoa.
Whatever your family traditions or favorite dishes are this Thanksgiving season, we wish you and yours a day full of blessings, gratitude and warmth.
